Jamestown, NY - United Way of Southern Chautauqua County is known for its collaborative efforts in the community and connecting local businesses and organizations with a Day of Caring project.  Some businesses utilize this as a team building opportunity within their organization.  Others simply just do it because they love to give back.

Recently United Way staff connected JCC student volunteers to local community partner projects for a JCC Day of Caring on Friday, October 28. These volunteer projects included scraping wallpaper and painting at the new location of Chautauqua Adult Day Services. Students raked leaves at the American Red Cross and provided landscaping services at the Resource Center.  The Resource Center also provided transportation to their location for international students with no access to transportation from the college.

“Our students are always looking for ways to become involved in the community,” said Kayla Crosby, JCC’s Director of Campus Life. “United Way of Southern Chautauqua County was an excellent resource in connecting us to these local agencies.”
