- The national birth rate in 2009 among teens 15-19 fell 9% from 37.9 to 34.3 live births per 1000 females, which is a record low
- This trend continued in 2010 when the rate dropped to 34.3 and again in 2011 when it dropped to 31.3
- Across the state there are wide fluctuations in the teen pregnancy rate for 15-19 year olds from a low of 9.5 in Putnam County to a high of 106.9 in the Bronx
- Chautauqua County is well above the national and upstate percentage
