New United Way Board President And Board Members Elected During 2023 Annual Meeting

Donors to United Way of Southern Chautauqua County elected a new board president and new board members to the organization’s Board of Directors at its 2023 Annual Meeting held Tuesday, July 25 at Moon Brook Country Club.

Outgoing Board MembersFive outgoing board members were recognized for their years of service during the luncheon: Marion Beckerink, retired, Robert H. Jackson Center; John Foti, BPU; Anne Hedin, retired, The Resource Center; Cecil Miller, UPMC Chautauqua and David Painter, Ahslstrom-Schaeffer Electric Corp.

Three returning board members were re-elected during the luncheon: Maureen Donahue, Southwestern Schools; Jordan Steves, Chautauqua Institution and Tamu Graham Reinhardt, Jamestown Public Schools. 

Replacing the five outgoing board members will be newly elected board members James Cama, Jamestown Public Schools; Dr. Christopher Colburn, Spectrum Eyecare; Andrew Faulkner, Ahlstrom Schaeffer; Carol Hay, retired, Panama Schools and Damien Jackson, UPMC Chautauqua.

Christine Tarbrake replaces Joelle Washer as president of the board. Returning officers Kathy Burch, vice president; Mallory Smith, treasurer; and Jordan Steves, secretary, were re-elected during the meeting.

Tarbrake has also served as a past Campaign Co-Chair, running the successful 2021 United Way Campaign with her husband, Mark – which came in over the goal of $1.3 million.

Christine Tarbrake Elected Board PresidentChristine has been employed with M&T Bank for more than 40 years and is currently a Regional Sales Manager for the Southern Tier Region.  She served on United Way of Southern Chautauqua County’s Board of Directors between 2011-2018, and throughout the years, has served as chairs of several board committees, including Allocations, Personnel and Community Impact.

“The Tarbrakes have been long time supporters of United Way and engaged community members for their entire careers,” said United Way Executive Director Amy Rohler, “I was thrilled for their leadership in our fundraising efforts in 2021 and am so very excited to have Christine as our newly-elected Board President.”
