WNY COVID-19 Community Response Fund Awards Grants to Chautauqua County Orgs
 
The Chautauqua County Crisis Response Fund recently received $25,000 from the Western New York COVID-19 Community Response Fund to support community-based and grassroots organizations working to provide hands on assistance to community members.
 
During its weekly meeting, the Crisis Response Fund, with guidance from the Chautauqua County United Ways and Community Foundations, selected 46 organizations to receive that funding.
 
Those organizations include: 5&2 Ministries; Area Christian Action Council – Clymer; Area Christian Action Council – Findley Lake; Area Christian Action Council – Sherman; Ashville Food Pantry; Bemus Point United Methodist Church Food Pantry; Bethlehem Lutheran Church Food Pantry; Bread of Life Healing Word Ministries Food Pantry; Breath of Life WNY; Brocton-Portland Food Pantry; Cassadaga Food Pantry; Chautauqua County Auxiliary on behalf of the 25 local auxiliary groups; The Chautauqua Center; Community Connections at Findley Lake; Evergreen Health Services in Jamestown; Family Services Chautauqua Region; Forestville Food Pantry, Inc., Fredonia Food Pantry - Presbyterian Church; Frewsburg Food Cupboard; Friendship Baptist Church; Housing Options Made Easy; Iglesia Gethsemani; Jamestown Public Market – Mobile Market; Kennedy First United Methodist Church Food Pantry; Mental Health Association in Chautauqua County; Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry; Northside Food Pantry; Open Door Church of Christ; Panama United Methodist Church Food Pantry; Ripley Community Council Food Pantry; Salvation Army ANEW Center; Silver Creek Food Pantry; Sinclairville Food Cupboard; Southwestern ILC, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Food Closet; St. Gianna Molls; St. Paul’s Episcopal Food Pantry; St. Susan Center, STEL, Tree of Life Food Cupboard, Twice Fed Food Pantry; UCAN City Mission; Veterans Services Agency; Westfield Community Kitchen; Westfield Food Pantry; and YWCA of Jamestown.
 
Grants will be awarded to address food security, health and well-being, mental health support, housing needs, support for hard to reach populations and flexible funding for emergency needs.
 
Much like the Chautauqua County Crisis Response Fund, the Western New York COVID-19 Community Response Fund was created by the philanthropic community to support nonprofits addressing immediate needs in response to the COVID-19 crisis throughout the eight counties of
 
Western New York. The Fund recently created a basic needs grants process to rapidly deploy resources to small urban and rural organizations ranging from $500-2,500.
