Help newborn babies and their mothers in the community get off to a good start!

This community-wide event collects essential items for local at-risk mothers and their babies.

For 2024, the Community Baby Shower will run April 29 through June 13th.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY BABY SHOWER

Each year, the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County hosts a spring "Community Baby Shower" event to raise money and collect items such as bottles, diapers, strollers, pack-n-plays, pacifiers, bibs and all of the many items which babies need to thrive.

Through the generosity of the community, UWSCC is able to provide local agencies with these items which enable local mothers to give their babies a healthy start — which is critical for their continued health and development.

Proceeds from the Community Baby Shower benefit babies in Chautauqua County and their moms, many of whom cannot afford the essential items needed to help give their babies a good start.

TOGETHER WE CAN CREATE CHANGE

By coming together to support moms and babies in our community, area agencies, businesses, community groups, church groups and employers make the Community Baby Shower a success. Whether an individual or an organization, you can can support the effort in the several ways outlined below:

Collected items can be dropped off to the United Way offices between April 29 and June 18th. We then distribute all items to local agencies that support mothers and babies in our community. Last year, we collected essentials for babies valued at over $5,100 and distributed items to 9 agencies that support babies in our community.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

• HOST A BABY SHOWER: Create an event or drop off at your business or organization and bring the items to the United Way office, located at 208 Pine Street, Jamestown. Our office is open from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday.
   
• DONATE THROUGH AMAZON: Buy items from our Amazon Wishlist, which can be found by clicking HERE.
   
• DROP OFF AT LOCATIONS TO BE DETERMINED: 
   
• GIVE BIG CHQ: Donate on June 13th during GiveBigCHQ to UWaySCC: All donations on United Way's GIVE BIG CHQ 24 hour giving page will go to purchase items for our Community Baby Shower. Visit GiveBigCHQ.org for more information.
   
• FINANCIALLY SPONSOR: Become a sponsor of the Community Baby Shower. Your logo and business name will be featured on social media, print media, press releases, website and in community PSAs throughout the duration of the baby shower.
