The Salvation Army has provided emergency assistance service for over 120 years in Southern Chautauqua County. The United Way has provided $52,500 for the Comprehensive Financial Assistance Program, $28,000 for the ANEW Center Children and Family Outreach program, $12,000 for the ANEW Center Domestic Violence Shelter-Non-Residential Program, and $29,000 for the ANEW Center Domestic Violence Shelter-Residential program.
- The Comprehensive Financial Assistance Program aims to improve the health and independence of the elderly, disabled, and working poor by providing practical assistance in the form of food, clothing, utilities, prescriptions, vouchers, transportation, and personal hygiene products.
- The ANEW Children & Family Outreach Program is working toward improving academic success among children by working with families that have been victimized by domestic violence or sexual assault by providing group counseling, domestic violence education and support services for parents, caregivers and children.
- The ANEW Center Domestic Violence Shelter Residential/Non Residential- seeks to improve the health and wellbeing of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing a 24 hour hotline, case management, legal, medical and counseling services in addition to a safe place to live.
