Since 1982, Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers has provided day programs that enable seniors to have quality of life through socialization and activity programming. The United Way lends support by providing $28,000 for the Scholarship Fund and $2,500 for the Latino Outreach to Seniors program.
The Adult Day Care Scholarship Fund seeks to improve the health and independence of the elderly and their families by helping fund long-term daytime service that may delay or even prevent other types of more costly care.
The Latino Outreach Program also seeks to improve the health and independence of the elderly, specifically elderly Latino members of the community. By providing:
Interpretation services for the elderly and their caregivers
Translation services for other agencies
Outreach education concerning available senior services
